Turn Off and Drain

1. Understand Your Sprinkler System

Locate and familiarize yourself with the main water supply
valve, drain taps, backflow preventer, and other key components of your
sprinkler system.

2. Shut Off the Water Supply

Find the main shut-off valve (typically located underground
or indoors) and turn it off. This stops water from flowing into your sprinkler
system.

3. Drain the System

Open all taps and valves to drain the water from your
system. If your system has a backflow preventer, open the test cocks and leave
the shut-off valves open.

4. Disconnect the Timer

To protect your timer from damage, remove any batteries and
unplug it from the wall.
